A large breakfast reduces hunger but does not affect weight loss

We often hear that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but is it really true? Can a hearty breakfast help us reduce appetite and accelerate weight loss? Let’s analyze the results of the latest study in this area.

What was the experiment like?

A study by a team of scientists focused on the role of breakfast in appetite control and weight loss. The experiment involved 200 adult participants who were divided into two groups. One group ate a large breakfast, consisting mainly of protein and carbohydrates, while the other group switched to intermittent fasting, eating only in the afternoon.

What has been proven?

The results of the study showed that participants who ate a large breakfast actually felt less hungry throughout the day. Subjects in this group reported fewer snacks between meals and overall fewer calories consumed throughout the day.

However, surprisingly to some, the intermittent fasting group had no major difficulty controlling their appetite. Subjects in this group also did not consume more calories during the day than those who ate breakfast. In addition, people on the intermittent fasting diet had similar weight loss to those eating breakfast.

Study results and the issue of intermittent fasting

Intermittent fasting, also called interval or window fasting, is a diet that involves limiting specific hours during which you can eat meals. Generally, there is a period of 6 to 8 hours in which you can eat, and the rest of the time is a fasting period in which you do not consume calories.

The study suggests that intermittent fasting may be an effective strategy for controlling appetite and losing weight. Despite not eating breakfast, participants in this group were not hungrier during the day and achieved similar weight loss results to those eating breakfast.

Your suggestions

Although the results of this study are promising for supporters of intermittent fasting, it is worth remembering that each person is different, and not every diet will be suitable for everyone. It is important to find a nutritional strategy that suits your individual needs and preferences.
